BoltHold asphalt anchors MUST use anchoring cement or epoxy ("grout") to facilitate bonding to the asphalt. The grout must meet certain properties else the results will be unpredictable.
Our EPX2 is a cement based grout available either in 12 oz resealable bags, or in a 10 lb. tub. Our EPX3 is a resin ("epoxy") grout adhesive available in cartridge form, compatible with standard caulk guns. Unlike the cement, the epoxy can be applied in temperatures as low as 14F. Functionally, once cured, the EPX2 and the EPX3 offer the same mechanical properties (e.g. strength). The EPX3 is more expensive but easier to use, and unlike the EPX2 it can be applied at temperatures below 40F.
