A: The anchors do not come with grout. We offer 3 types of grouts. We do offer some kits of the SP10 with either the EPX2 cement or the EPX3 epoxy grout.

Q:Setting up a rogue rig where people will be doing swinging and pull
Up etc. it’s on an asphalt drive way. Was thinking these would help secure it to the ground so there was no more movement. Was also not sure exactly what I’d have to order. Thanks!

A: First a word of caution: we only recommend the use of our anchors if the rig is stable and will not tip over without our anchors. It is safe to use our anchors to prevent the rig from travelling.
We recommend the SP12-38 or SP18-716. Make sure you read the manual aac.fyi/guide carefully.

Q:I'm putting g a 29x10 carport up it has a 2" metal frame along both sides how many anchors will I need the wind average is 18 mph with gusts up to 35 but it is fairly well protected between my house and my neighbors. And will the 6" sp10-38 do the job?

A: Although you enquired about a carport, because there are walls involved, I recommend using the shed calculator.
Using our Shed calculator (see bottom of home page), the total forces on the airport will be about 1000 lbs. Theoretically two anchors can handle this load. However we recommend placing at least one anchor per post.

Q:Hello, we are looking for an anchor system for a 24'x32' prefab storage shed being placed on asphalt. The base construction of shed will be 4x4 base resting directly on top of asphalt. What should be the proper depth of anchor below asphalt and I would need to add the 4" for the 4x4. Thank you

A: In order to answer your question we need to know the expected winds, and the dimensions of the structure above it. Also how may anchoring points will be available. You can then plug the info into our shed calculator (see bottom of Home page).
The depth of the anchor will be specified by the model (e.g. SP12 is 12" deep). Note that you will need to get bolts that are 5"-6" long to replace the bolts provided with the anchors.

Q:I am looking to mount a winch into asphalt. The winch will be used to pull a small airplane weighing 1500-1700 lbs up a very slight grade. My concern is the side load on the anchors in the soft asphalt. Would these anchors work for this application or do you have another suggestion? Thanks.

A: One could compute the horizontal force required to move the plane once we know the slope of the surface and the coefficient of friction of the wheels on the surface.
A rough estimate is that, if you can pull it yourself, the force is less than 100 lbs. All our anchors can easily resist 100 lbs. shear force. If you use 3 anchors to secure the winch you have a large margin of safety.

Q:The project we are looking at will need over 300 SP-10-38. We need to calculate a labor cost to install them. What should we figure, assume 4" thick asphalt.
Thanks

A: Please consult our App Note AN35 which covers estimating the cost to install.
